Travel and Tourism Subject Intent Statement:

The study of Travel and Tourism offers students a unique opportunity to explore a vibrant and ever-evolving industry that plays a crucial role in the global economy. By engaging with this subject, students will develop valuable knowledge, practical skills, and a wider understanding of the travel and tourism sector. This will equip them with the necessary foundations for further study and open up a numerous career opportunities.

Through the study of Travel and Tourism, students will acquire a range of essential skills that are highly sought after in the industry and transferable to various professional contexts. They will learn the art of research, honing their abilities to gather information from diverse sources such as books, websites, and travel guides. Furthermore, students will develop strong planning skills, enabling them to create comprehensive itineraries, book travel arrangements, and make informed decisions based on critical analysis and evaluation. Students will learn to effectively communicate with others which will empower them to interact confidently with customers and colleagues, deliver compelling presentations, compose well-written reports, and handle customer complaints.
