VE Day

This week in school, we are learning about VE Day and why it is an important part of our history. We have
held special assemblies to help you understand what VE Day means and how it is marked across the
country.

To celebrate VE Day and support the work of the Royal British Legion, we will be having a non-uniform
day on Friday 9th May. We are asking you to come to school wearing red, white, and blue – the colours
of the Union Flag.

If you take part, we kindly ask for a £1 donation. Student Leaders will collect donations at the school gate
in the morning, or your parents / carers can donate through ParentPay.

At lunchtime, we will have a small VE Day-themed street party at Castle View, including some special
food and light entertainment.

Please remember that this is still a normal school day, so you should bring all the usual equipment for
lessons.
